YouTube 101

In this modern era, people use Internet for many purposes. It may be as a form of information/news, education, or entertainment. One of the best video-hosting websites is the YouTube, which gained its popularity drastically because it is multi-purpose and gives us videos that can be as a form of information, education, and entertainment. Here are my recommended five channels that are very informative and entertaining:

1. HowStuffWorks

This channel got its start in 1998 at a college professor's kitchen table. It became an award-winning source of unbiased, reliable, easy-to-understand answers and explanations of how the world actually works. Their writers, editors, podcasters and video hosts share all the things people are most excited to learn about with nearly 30 million visitors to the site each month.

2. AsapSCIENCE

This channel started to join YouTube on May 28, 2012 and with 6 million subscribers. The description of this channel is "Your weekly dose of fun and interesting science." It is all about science clips that discusses everything related with science.

3. MinuteEarth

This channel started to join on October 19, 2011 and with 1.5 million subscribers. The description of this channel is "Science and stories about our awesome planet!" The video clips are all everything that explains the Earth and all related to it.

4. Alltime10s

This channel started to join on January 26, 2010 and with 4.9 million subscribers. The description of this channel is "We are Alltime10s and we aim to bring you the most informative, fascinating and engaging top 10 videos on YouTube."

5. WatchMojo.com

This channel started to join on January 26, 2007 and with 13.9 million subscribers. The description of this channel is "Top 10 lists on Music, TV, Film and Video Games. We publish 4 or more Top 10s daily. Subscribe for new top 10 lists every day, and binge watch on Top 10s covering Pop Culture, Celebrity, Movies, Music, TV, Film, Video Games, Politics, News, Comics and Superheroes. WatchMojo’s back catalogue has ten thousand videos on Top 10 lists, Origins, Biographies, Tips, How To’s, Reviews, Commentary and more Your trusted authority on ranking Pop Culture."

WHY ARE THESE CHANNELS ARE GOOD?

These channels made their way to the top by having lots of views and subscribers because of their wonderful videos. But how?

1. These channels are very informative. They give us lot of ideas, information, or news that adds up to our knowledge and be aware of what's happening around us.

2. These channels are very entertaining. They don't just give information but at the same time, they give us amusement that makes their videos not tedious and boring.

3. These channels are very helpful. They give us tips, reviews, commentaries that enlighten us to be more critical and practical at the same time.

4. They are indeed very useful for students and youths. Their videos are very educational that make students more knowledgeable. Also, these channels do not exploit contents that are inappropriate for youth but rather teach them anything that are very convenient and educational.

HOW ABOUT WORST CHANNELS?

Most of the channels weren't helpful thus making the audiences annoyed and irritated, here are the five:

1) Onision

- Joined on January 29, 2006 and with 2.3 million subscribers. He likes to bash and to discriminate people's flaws.

2) Sam Pepper

-Joined on September 8, 2010 and with 2.4 million subscribers. He does sexual harassment to women by touching their bodies as what he called "experiment."

3) LeafyIsHere

-Joined on October 7, 2011 and with 4.5 million subscribers. He called his videos "satire" but hurt and destroy others.

4) HowToBasic

-Joined on Devember 8, 2011 and with 8.8 million subscribers. He wastes lots of food to make comedy and fun out of it.

5) The Young Turks

-Joined on December 21, 2005 and with 3.2 million subscribers. This news channel is said to be misinformed, biased and judgmental.

WHY ARE THEY CONSIDERED WORST?

These channels were up to no good but to earn dislikes and hate to the audience. Here are some reasons why they are considered worst.

1) The channel is all about cyber-bullying. It may discriminate and destroy one's reputation that could lead to its negative effects.

2) Some of the channels were made for nothing but to seek for attention to everyone.

3) Some of the channels violate human rights. They promote and use people to get views from the audience.

4) Some of the channels promote sexual harassment/

5) One channel used and wasted food just to get likes and thinks that it is funny and could be used for comedy.
